Z. L. Feng

Z.L. Feng grew up in Shanghai and exhibited his portraits, landscapes and illustrations in juried shows. He moved to the United States from China in 1986. Feng has won more than 200 state, regional, national and international awards and been recognized at numerous watercolor exhibitions.

Feng's work celebrates beauty and illustrates a depth of expression in each piece. Each shape, each blend of color is a unique challenge for him.  

In His Own Words "Painting a persons eyes is the most difficult aspect of portraiture. Chinese philosophy teaches that the soul comes from the eyes. If you can't capture a soul you may be a technical success, but your painting has no depth."
