The Little Gallery is delighted to announce the 2nd Plein Air Roanoke - May 11 - 16, 2020. A wonderful opportunity to paint or watch some of the best painters from across the country paint Roanoke and the Blue Ridge Landscape.
Plein Air Roanoke, is an annual event to encourage outdoor painting for all ages!
This year the event kicks off with nationally recognized plein air artist, Mary Garrish giving a Workshop, on MAY 10th and 11th. She will also be judging the plein air event on May 15th as well as the Quick Draw.
Mary Garrish was born in Miami Beach, Florida in 1955 and served as the President of the American Impressionist Society for 2005-2007. Her major interest is Plein Air landscapes and other Representational Art. She paints annually around the world.
When asked about leaving a career in surgery for full time painting, Mary replies “I was pulled to art, not pushed from medicine.” Mary has devoted intense study in both her studio and in regular workshop participation with many of the great landscape artists of this era. Her art hangs in galleries and private collections around the United States. Mary has been selected to participate in numerous national juried shows, and has had several one-woman shows at both galleries and museums.
The PAR Paint Outs will be 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and will take place at different locations such as Taubman Museum, Mill Mountain, Gallery 202, Roanoke River, Keeley Healing Garden, Market on the Square to name a few! PAR Paint Outs will also have Nocturnes and Fast Paint session/Quick Draws!
