Open seven days a week, The Little Gallery is a fine art gallery and specialty home decor boutique on beautiful Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia. We cater to our eclectic customer base by offering a variety of wall art and original paintings, sculpture, art glass, high quality home furnishings/decor, jewelry and specialty gifts.

The Little Gallery originally opened as a small boutique of about 600 sq feet in 1988 at Bridgewater Plaza on Smith Mountain Lake, Virginia.

The "Little" Gallery has grown to occupy 2000 sq feet on the lower level offering original paintings, artwork and jewelry. We feature over 200 North American and Canadian artists and are dedicated to cultivating new art collectors by offering the finest quality and selection of fine art.

On the upper level you will see an additional 2000 sq feet full of unique and interesting finds! High quality furnishings made across the globe - from the U.S. to Hungary from Spain to Indonesia, extended lines of wall art and sculpture, lighting options, textiles, decorative accents/accessories, specialty lifestyle gifts and of course showcase paintings.

You won't want to miss the Saturday "Demo on the Deck" during the warmer months, where a featured artist has a demonstration of painting, jewelry making or pottery making on the deck. These events give our visitors the opportunity to interact with the artist while they demonstrate their skills and create a work of art on location.

Join The Little Gallery in welcoming Ed Hatch, celebrated member of the Top 100 Southern Artists and chosen as a featured artist for the 2015 Southern Living idea House, for a Meet & Greet on Saturday, July 16th from 1 to 3.  Enjoy viewing Ed's newest works and step inside his love for nature as he conveys his appreciation for beauty revealing the extraordinary from the ordinary during his demonstration by the lake.
About the Artist
The luminous work of Ed Hatch is so connected to his subjects, so rooted in his environs, that one feels an immediate sense of place and wonder.  Ed, a full-time artist for more than 20 years, centers his life at the same country crossroads where he grew up - a corner of rural Virginia where his great-grandparents opened a general store in 1915.  This charming setting is now his studio.  Across the street is the house where his father lived, and a stone's throw away is his childhood home where he lives.  An acute observer, Ed's home base is that ideal spot for exploration and discovery - whether it's the creeks nearby or the mountains further afield.  Ed's SOLO EXHIBITION will be on display at The Little Gallery JULY 16 - August 11.
